To have a better understanding of the African current medical education system and status; To strengthen the communication and cooperation between the China and African countries on institutions and hospitals; To train more qualified medical personels for African countries; the delegation of Shenyang Medical College has paid a 10-day visit to Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya.
Delegation of Shenyang Medical College Visited Ghana University, LEKMA HOSPITAL, Ghana Region hospital
The delagation Successively visited Ghana University, LEKMA HOSPITAL, Ghana Region hospital and the Chinese embassy in Ghana. It helps us have a better understanding of the Ghana Medical Education System and Ghanian studnets' desire for studying in China. Meanwhile, the delagation also visited the international students from Shenyang Medical College who were working or doing internship in Ghana. LEKMA HOSPITAL and Ghana Region hospital have also recognised our students' abilities. They thought the students had a solid medical theory ability and also with a good attitude toward patients which all owed to the cultivation of Shenyang Medical College.
The Chinese Embassy in Ghana spoke highly of the effort on the overses education we have made and hope that we will train more excellent international students in the future.
In Nigeria, The delegation visited Nigeria ABU university, ABU university affiliated hospital, Jigawa State, Chinese Embassy in Nigeria. DUring the visit, our delegation was warm welcomed by Jigawa State goverment and the minister of public health- ABBA has also accompanied our delegation to visit the Nigeria and Hospital. The vice-president of ABU university affiliated hospital has also shown his strong desire to cooperate with Shenyang Medical College, like on students intership placement, teachers and medical personels exchange.
The overseas education of Shenyang Medical College has been highly appreciated by Zhou Pingjian, the embassador of Chinese Embassy in Nigeria. He encouraged us to cultiva more and more talent medical personels.
In Kenya, the delegation visited the University of Nairobi, The Aga Khan University Hospital. The teaching facilities in University of Nairobi is obviously better than those in Ghana and Nigiria but it's still have a big gap compared to the same class of univeristy in China.
The visit to Africa has been very fruitful. It helps us have a better understanding on the African medical system and current medical status. What's more, the overseas education of Shenyang Medical College has been affirmed and supported by Chinese Embassy in Ghana and Nigeria and it will bring a conveneint condition on visa application for those international students who wish to apply Shenyang Medical University.
