Diwali (排灯节), a major Hindu festival also called as festival of lights and is a gazette holiday in India & Nepal. As the number of Hindus have increased over the years it was a great opportunity to come together and organize a party. Some of the senior year students with the help of freshmen successfully got the day planned out.
11th November, the day started out early with a team of 20 people cooking for about 180 guests. The venue was decorated with Diyas (lamps & candles). The program started off with worshipping the god praying for good health, peace and wisdom. Amazing dance performances were staged by each batch. Students of MBBS 2014 acted out a skit portraying the story of Diwali. Delicious Indian food was then served. The party was concluded with bursting of firecrackers!
Kudos to the management team for its first successful get-together!!
We also thank OEC teachers and staff for being a part of our festival.
