Hainan Medical University is the only public medical institution in the Hainan Free Trade Port. Located in Haikou, the provincial capital of Hainan Province—a tropical coastal city known as "Coconut City"—the university comprises three campuses: Chengxi (main campus), Guilinyang (new campus), and Longhua.  

The university offers 36 undergraduate majors across four disciplines: medicine, science, management, and engineering. It boasts 21 national key clinical specialties, with its clinical medicine program ranking in the top 5% nationally.  

Hainan Medical University is supported by three of Hainan Province's largest tertiary A-level directly affiliated hospitals, along with 10 non-affiliated hospitals, 12 teaching hospitals, and two cooperative disease control centers, providing robust infrastructure for clinical teaching and research.
