Shenyang University of Technology (SUT), consisting of three campuses, is the provincial key institution of higher education. It is an engineering-oriented, multi-disciplinary university, with its academic areas covering engineering, science, economics, management, liberal arts and law. Located in the northeastern part of China, our university enjoys a good climate with distinctively marked four seasons.
Our university, founded in 1949, has an enrollment of about 28000 and a teaching and administrative staff of about 3000. Our university is composed of 19 schools, offering courses in 55 specialties, which are authorized to confer the degrees of bachelor, master and doctor. Some specialties have their own research stations for postdoctoral and some are key ones supported by the state government.
      The International Education School, a new-type, multi-functional entity for running a school on various levels, is committed to such programs as Chinese-international collaboration, international students education, language training, cultural exchanges, etc. To meet the needs of the international students in different levels, the International Students Administration Office, as well as the Chinese Teaching And Research Office, offers the languages training courses to undergraduates, graduates and students who learn Chinese as a second language. After finishing the language training and passing the new HSK Band 4 for the science and art majors, students can directly further their studies in other schools and departments to get master and doctor degrees, The international students can pass the new HSK Band 4 through the special training given by the qualified and experienced teachers after half or one year’s study. Our school can accommodate 200 international students, with such facilities as pleasant classrooms, language laboratories, internet bar, academic exchange center, dining hall, laundry.
    SUT began to recruit overseas students from the year of 1995, and established the School of International Education specifically for the need. Now the school has a group of professional teachers for the Foreign Chinese Teaching. They are all excellent with rich teaching experience and have been qualified the certificates for Foreign Chinese Teaching, which enables them to be competent not only in the teaching work for long& short-term language learners, but also in the directing of undergraduates and postgraduates for their major study and graduation thesis. Teachers of the school have been to colleges and universities in different countries successively for academic investigation and teaching communication, including Japan, Korea, America, Australia, Russia etc. This broadens the teachers' vision and also makes our teaching work keep pace with the times. The School of International Education has always paying close attention to the development prospects of Chinese all over the world, and has for recent years undertaken numbers of teaching scientific projects of the province and city, published dozens of thesis at provincial levels. The school has now cultivated more than 5000 overseas students from more than 20 countries in the world.
