Introduction of Shenyang university:

Shenyang university （SYU）is a public comprehensive university, located in Shenyang (the biggest city among China north cities), a beautiful place for study and living. Adjacent to traffic pivotal of city, its traffic is very convenient. The university history can be traced back to “Fengtian Industry School” and “Xinmin Public School” established in 1906.

Shenyang University offers a complete range of subjects, covering 11 disciplinary areas, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, technology, agriculture, management, and arts, etc. With undergraduate education as its mainstay, Shenyang University has developed a multi-layered and comprehensive mode of education to comprise postgraduate education, higher vocational education, continuing education and education for foreign students. At present, it has 18 schools, 64 undergraduate programs, 26 vocational training programs, 1 P.H.D program, 10 Level 1 discipline master, 6 graduate programs. And the University’s total enrollment is more than 30,000.

As a window into Shenyang, China, IEEC tries to make the concept of scientific, democratic, open education a reality. To give substance to this vision of international education the IEEC has established academic exchanges and cooperation in research with 60 universities in more than 20 countries such as America, England, and French, etc. The IEEC is successfully involved in a wide range of shared culture scientific, academic and sport activities with these countries.

In recent years, there has been a rapid increase in the number of students interested in having an education about China, its language and culture. The quality of the IEEC services in offering such an education has risen steadily. Each year, over 300 oversea students from more than 40 developed and developing countries such as Russia, Mongolia, South Korea, Uganda, Spain, Colombia, Mexico and so on, choose their study at Shenyang University. IEEC’s enrollment targets are short and long term language program students, undergraduates, postgraduates.

Shenyang University is an examination site for the national test of proficiency in Chinese language. Also Shenyang university has the independent undertaking HSK network exam qualification :a Shenyang University-Tangfeng HSK Online Examination Practice Center and HSK Online Examination Technical Center．

Another teaching feature, based on Chinese traditional culture experience hall and Tsing Dynasty experience hall, is the combination of language teaching and traditional culture, which specializes in situational teaching as well as language practice. The aim is to present Chinese as a foreign language employing culture, real life situations and practice as means to learning and enjoyment of studies.

The IEEC offers many different Chinese culture classes all year, such as Chinese cooking, Chinese Tea Culture, Peking Opera Painted Faces, Chinese knot weaving, Chinese Paper Cutting, Tai-chi, tai Chi Fan, Table Tennis and Chinese Waist Drum. This Center also provides theme activities based on Chinese festivals: making rice dumplings, moon-cakes and dumplings in the Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese Spring Festival and other Chinese traditional festival. Introductory lectures about the meaning of the festivals show their significance in the Chinese way of life. There are as well road trips to places of interest; students are always enthusiastic about IEEC’s extra curricular activities.
