About Our WZU
Wenzhou University is a comprehensive university, whose history dated from 1933 when Mr. Huang Shuochu founded Wenzhou Normal College. The university has a total area of 1,482,667 square meters, 1,046,000 square meters of buildings, 385 million RMB’s worth of tools and equipments, and 2,253,000 paper books in its library. The university forms multilevel talents training systems of mainly training undergraduates, simultaneously training graduates, international students, and continuing education. Currently there are 17 colleges in WZU, with a full-time student population of 30,166. The number of faculty members, administrative and supporting staff is 2,366, among which 1339 are full-time teachers (including 176 professors and 401 associate professors), 290 are mentors for postgraduates and doctorate students, and 226 are academic or technological leaders at the provincial or municipal level. There are 6 first level discipline master programs, 36 Secondary level discipline master programs, and 50 undergraduate programs. The undergraduate program encompass 10 academic categories, including economics, law, art, philosophy, education, literature, history, sciences, engineering, and management.
WZU has cooperated with universities from America, Britain, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, etc., and established a Confucius Institute in Thailand. A series of courses are designed for overseas students: Bachelor Degree Courses of International Economy and Trade, Bachelor Degree Courses of International Sales and Marketing Management, Chinese Training Courses, Asian Study Program, and Trade-research & Study-tour, etc. Overseas students in Wenzhou University who are eligible can apply Confucius Scholarship, Zhejiang Government Scholarship and WZU Scholarship.
The College of International Cooperation is one branch of the Wenzhou University System with the main objectives of international cooperation; communication; introducing advanced educational resources abroad; developing educational programs based on the needs of economic and social development in Wenzhou; and practical conditions of the university; research and development of educational programs; education of foreign students; building and management of educational fields for students preparing to study abroad; the overseas base of teaching Chinese as foreign language. College has established a Confucius Institute in Thailand. College of International Cooperation has cooperated with universities from the U.S.A, Britain, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, etc.

Wenzhou University, the acceptance of Confucius Scholarship and Zhejiang Government Scholarship, especially set the Scholarship of Wenzhou University to welcome the international students study in Wenzhou University.
